The SCALANCE X116 is an unmanaged compact switch designed for simple machine networking. It has a rugged metal enclosure in S7-300 format, making it ideal for space-saving control cabinet installation. It can be easily integrated into an automation solution with S7-300 components.

The SCALANCE X116 is particularly reliable and fail-safe due to its redundant power supply. It has rugged station connections with PROFINET-compliant FastConnect connectors, which provide additional strain and bending relief through latching into the enclosure. The RJ45 ports are industry-standard and come with additional securing collars, making them optimal for connecting the IE FC RJ45 plug 180. It is possible to install the switch without a patch field using the IE FC RJ45 plug 180 and IE FC Standard Cable, and use uncrossed connection cables through the integrated autocrossover function of the ports.

The device provides diagnostics for power, link status, and data communication. It also has an error signaling contact with easy adjustment using the SET button.
